BEHIND THE CANVAS

I have been a mixed media painter for over 20 years.  Having grown up in Minneapolis, MN, I was fortunate to have great mentors, teachers and collaborators who have inspired and shaped my career as an artist.  Most of my early work was graffiti art as a member of XYZ crew. 

 

Leaving the concrete for canvas, I was  nominated as a Golden Key Award winner  and featured at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and the XYandZ Gallery. 

 

Chicago, IL was an inspiring place to spend five years as an artist.  I always liked the diversity, colors, music and seasons.  These inspirations can be seen in all my work.

 

I currently call Louisville, KY my home where I live with my wife, Kate.  When asked to describe my style, I need to quote my late friend Ryan Quirt, "I am hip and I love to dance." I am blessed to have clients who support my work and continue to allow me to create.
